Farmer Q&A: James Meeks

James Meeks is a fifth-generation farmer in Ashley County. He and his business partner and childhood friend, Wendell Moffatt, another multi-generational farmer, decided 22 years ago they “needed to get bigger and sell” produce or “get out of the tomato business entirely.” That’s when the duo started Triple M Farms. Triple M grows tomatoes, pepper, watermelon and cantaloupe and includes a u-pick operation. In addition to farming produce, Meeks and Moffatt maintain their own, seperate cattle operations.
